Obscurity by LaDonna Cole

Bereft

Bereft on sodden corners trodden

No sanctuary beckon

Flushed from wombs and names ne’er gotten

Nil life by those who reckon

savestorks

You will not see me

You cannot hear me

You’ll never know me.

Back bent to labor, other’s gain

Freedom shackled, heavy price

Obscured by blood on battle’s plain

Wholly squandered sacrifice.photo credit: http://suite101.com/article/nonprofit-organizations-fighting-human-trafficking--part-1-a268717

You will not see me

You cannot hear me

You’ll never know me.

Genius hides in peculiar minds

Misnomer labeled person

Talent driven too deep inside

Scars banish comely burgeon

You will not see me

You cannot hear me

You’ll never know me.

Observe the lowly destitute

Hearken to the silent cries

Raise a standard with no dispute

Faith beckons, entreats, descries

Until you see me

hope

Until you hear me

Until you know me.
